Conceived and initiated during the previous BRS government as part of the Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP), the flyover from Aramgarh to Nehru Zoo Park will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister, A Revanth Reddy, here on Monday.
‘Telangana Today’ in these columns on Friday had highlighted the plight of commuters on this busy stretch as the flyover, though completed in all aspects, awaited the Chief Minister to inaugurate.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal
Corporation (GHMC) in a press release on Sunday said the six-lane grade separator from Aramgarh to Zoo Park has been built under SRDP with a project cost of Rs 799.74 crore.
The flyover has been designed keeping in view of traffic volume for next 20 years and will bring much needed relief to commuters moving towards Aramgarh, Shastripuram, Kalapathar, Dar-ul-Uloom, Sivarampally, Hasan Nagar Junctions and RGI Airport. The new facility will also benefit those visiting the Nehru Zoological Park.
