Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday announced that archakas and employees working in the temples, numbering around 5,625, under the control of the endowments department will be given state government pay scales from November. The Dhoop, Deep and Naivedyam rituals, which are being implemented in 1805 temples, are to be extended to another 3,000 temples in the state. Under this scheme, archakas will get `9,000 per month against the present `6,000.
The CM also declared that to supervise and monitor temple-related issues, a Dharmika Parishad will be set up. These
decisions were the outcome of a meeting that the CM had with archakas from across the state at Pragati Bhavan here on Friday .
“After Telangana came into being, we focused on development of temples, problems faced by archakas and Brahmin welfare. We are developing Yadadri, Vemulawada, Bhadradri and other temples. The Dhoop, Deep and Naivedyam scheme will now be implemented in 4805 temples,“ CM said.The CM also assured the archakas that pay scales would be revised when PRC recommendations for state government employees are implemented.
