‘At Home’ function hosted by Governor E S L Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan on the occasion of the 71st Independence Day on Tuesday. The Chief Ministers of the two Telugu States K Chandrashekhar Rao and N Chandrababu Naidu participated in the event and later had an hour long discussion with the Governor on the pending issues between the two States.
Narasimhan, sources said, asked the Chief Ministers to settle the issues amicably at the earliest. Earlier, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, both looking at ease, were seen chatting with each other for about 15 minutes. The Governor also joined them for a few minutes before meeting the other
invitees.
Jana Sena president and film actor Pavan Kalyan was the centre of attraction at the event. Union Ministers Sujana Chowdary and Bandaru Dattatreya, Deputy Chief Ministers Mohammed Mahmood Ali and Kadiyam Srihari, Ministers Etela Rajender, K T Rama Rao, Laxma Reddy, Naini Narsimha Reddy and Mahender Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker K Siva Prasad, Leaders of the Opposition in TS Legislative Council and Assembly Shabir Ali and K Jana Reddy respectively, BJP president K Laxman were among the political leaders who attended the function.
Chief Secretary S P Singh, DGP Anurag Sharma and senior IAS and IPS officers, cricketer VVS Laxman, badminton coach P Gopichand were also present.
