Telangana Auto Drivers’ JAC on Thursday demanded the TRS government to exempt transport vehicles from RTA’s online services since the department was unable to carry out two different transactions in a single day.
Addressing the media here, JAC convener Mohd Amanullah Khan alleged that ever since RTA online services were launched, different RTA jobs like auto fitness test, permit renewal, transfer of ownership and so on, which were done in one day earlier were now taking two or more days. Also, the number of slot bookings was restricted
due to which RTA transactions were being delayed unnecessarily, he said.
The JAC convenor also alleged that the Transport department went ahead with online services without considering practical problems and difficulties of the transport vehicle owners and drivers of all categories. He also accused the Transport department of taking unilateral decisions to introduce online services without consulting the general public.
The JAC has decided to fight against the process by launching an agitation from August 16.
