The transport system in Hyderabad is likely to take a hit on Tuesday as drivers of various commercial vehicles, including autos, cabs and buses, are going off the road in protest against the provisions of Motor Vehicles Act-2017. Trade unions like AITUC, INTUC, IFTU, TADS and JDAA, among others, have teamed up for the one-day pan-India strike. The worst-affected
will be office-goers and school/college students. Drivers of app cab aggregators are also likely to suspend operations.
Drivers are upset that special provisions for RTC are abolished and auctioned on all routes across India. They demanded that the government scrap Motor Vehicle amendment bill.
