With the launch of the Bairamalguda RHS flyover on Monday, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has now completed six of the 14 structures to be constructed under the Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP) package II.
Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao thrown open the Bairamalguda RHS flyover for traffic in the presence of Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy and other elected public representatives on Monday. The Bairamalguda RHS flyover helps in one-way traffic flow from the LB Nagar side towards the Owaisi Junction.
Under Package II of SRDP, the GHMC is constructing 14 structures, including eight flyovers and four underpasses, in different areas of LB Nagar at a total cost of Rs 448 crore. Among these, six structures, including the Chintalkunta underpass, Kamineni LHS flyover and
RHS and LB Nagar LHS flyover and LHS underpass, have been completed.
The Bairamalguda RHS flyover was constructed at a cost of Rs 26.45 crore. The flyover is 780 metres long and 12 metres in width. The flyover will enable free flow of inner ring road traffic from Secunderabad to Owaisi and Srisailam road sides.
With the completion of the Bairamalguda RHS flyover, GHMC is now expediting works pertaining to other structures under package II. At present, the LB Nagar RHS flyover, Bairamalguda LHS flyover and Nagole six lane flyover works are under progress.
GHMC aims to complete these projects by July, 2021, March, 2021 and October 2021 respectively. It may be recalled that the GHMC has already completed construction of six projects under SRDP package IV at a total cost of Rs 379 crore.
