Bandi criticises Congress, BRS for not celebrating ‘Liberation Day’

Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar alleged that both the present Congress and previous BRS governments had not celebrated Liberation Day because of the fear of the AIMIM.

Speaking after inaugurating a photo exhibition organized by the Central Bureau of Communication here on Wednesday, he said it was unfortunate on part of the Congress, which claimed that a separate Telangana had materialized only



because of the Congress, that it was not taking initiatives to explain to the present generation about agitations taken out for the liberation of the erstwhile Hyderabad State.

Though the country got independence on August 15, 1947, Telangana did not get it on the same day. It was the responsibility of the government to tell the present generation when the State got independence and who was responsible for that, he said.
