BJP Telangana State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Thursday welcomed the State government’s decision to implement the Central government’s Ayushman Bharat (Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana) scheme in Telangana providing health insurance coverage for beneficiaries.
Appreciating Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for visiting Gandhi hospital on Wednesday to get to know the problems of patients, Sanjay said: “It would have been of great help if the Chief Minister interacted with doctors and other para-medical staff to know their problems being faced since the outbreak of Covid-19.”
Demanding that the State government immediately include Covid-19 treatment in the Arogyasri scheme keeping in view the problems being faced by poor people, Sanjay, addressing a press conference virtually, said since doctors and para-medical staff
were facing pressure because of the increasing number of Covid patients in government hospitals, the State government should immediately complete the process of recruiting the additional staff to meet the increasing requirements at the hospitals.
He said more amenities should be provided at government hospitals especially at the MGM hospital in Warangal and requested the State government to expedite the process of administering vaccines to people.
Sanjay asked the State government to come to the rescue of farmers who are thronging procurement centres with their harvest. Since farmers were facing problems due to unseasonal rains this time, officials concerned must complete the formalities with respect to the procurement of paddy immediately and render justice to them, he added.
