Bank staff stage protest against RBI due to cash crunch

Members of All India Bank Employee Association and Bank Officer Association staged a protest in front of Reserve Bank of India office in the city on Wednesday.They demanded issues like security to employees and transparency in cash supply among several other demands.

In a letter addressed to R Subramanian, regional director, RBI Hyderabad, the association members said that repeated



declarations by the RBI stating that adequate cash has been supplied to the banks exposed the bank branches and staff at counters to the ire of agitated customers when the fact is otherwise. 

“While on one hand RBI says that required cash is being supplied to banks, on the other hand the ‘no cash boards’ at banks is leaving the public agitated,” said the letter.
