The Telangana High Court took up the fire accident incident at Bazarghat of Nampally on November 13 as a  PIL in which nine persons were killed after some chemicals stored in the parking space caught fire.

The division bench, comprising Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Anil Kumar Jukanti, on Monday issued notices to the Chief Secretary, principal secretaries of home, MA&UD, the DGP, DG of Telangana State Disaster Response & Fire Services, GHMC Commissioner, city commissioner of police and Hyderabad collector, directing them to respond to the notices within four weeks duly furnishing the possible reasons that had led to the fire

accident.

Md. Shafiuddin Yakub Ali, a city-based advocate, addressed a communication to the Chief Justice, apprising him of the November 13 fire accident, which occurred in a three storied building at Bazarghat where chemicals were stored. The advocate informed the court that builders were constructing high-rise buildings without obtaining prior permission from the fire department.

The petitioner said that the police had registered cases against the management of the building, and not the builders, who had constructed the building without putting safety norms in place.
