A massive BC Garjana will be held in Shadnagar (the original venue was Suryapet) between September 6 and 9, depending on the availability of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, said senior Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao.
"I have toured all the erstwhile 10 districts to increase awareness about the promises made by Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge to hold the Caste Census of BCs. All parties are concentrating on BCs after the Congress made this promise. We are seeking a separate ministry for BCs as we constitute 54
per cent of the population. I met TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy and CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka to discuss this issue," he said.
On the withdrawal of security to TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy, Rao asked, "Who is responsible if something happens to him? How can the government deny security to the leader of a national party? In fact, the government should provide security to me also."
The BC meet will have the presence of two lakh, he said.
