The proposed 119 BC residential schools will function on the lines of corporate ones from the next academic year, BC Welfare Minister Jogu Ramanna said.
Chairing the governing body meeting of BC Residential Schools Institutions Society on Monday, Ramanna said, in order to offer good education to BC students, the government provided modern school buildings, uniforms, shoes, textbooks, notebooks and cosmetics for
free.
The State government also planned to bear the medical expenditure of the students. The Minister directed officials to take measures to fill teaching and non-teaching posts in the schools. He also wanted summer camps to be organised.The Minister released a poster that details the enrolment for the 2017-18 academic year. He said 16 residential schools were upgraded as colleges across the State.
