He expressed
concern that despite spending Rs 20,000 cr funds on education sector the
government schools are not performing well in terms of results coupled with
poor conditions, unclean premises, lack of water and facilities he expressed
concern. The Government will bring an Act giving village panchayats the
responsibility of upkeep of the schools with facilities, greenery and improving
infrastructure he said. Keeping in view the flagship program of KG to PG we
must make a policy enabling the schools to have better amenities he said at a
budget review meeting on education sector along with deputy chief minister and
Education Minister K Srihari, Finance minister E Rajender
and officials at camp office here.
KCR said that the government will take the responsibility of providing all facilities to the welfare hostels. Make budget proposals that will should address the needs and inadequacies and push the students as future human resources for the country. He directed to implement need based schemes and programs to bring under one umbrella all the wings, close printing section in education wing, shift ITI from labour wing to technical wing, envelope all academies into one, reduce 14 wings in the education sector into a few, shift archives and library wings into cultural wing and shift staff to other places burdened with more work.
Asking to
prepare a plan on KG to PG scheme KCR sought to conduct a meeting with teachers
associations to cut to size the schools without students and prepare a
comprehensive plan to make ample use of central funds and gather data from
schools level to varsities.
