CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka hailed the State government’s Dalit Bandhu scheme and said no other State in the country had taken up such an initiative for the welfare of Dalits.
The Madira MLA thanked the Chief Minister for selecting Chintakani mandal in his constituency for taking up the Dalit Bandhu pilot project. He assured all support in the implementation of the scheme and said the move to provide SC reservations in government-sanctioned fertilizer shops, Mee Seva centres, liquor shops, bars, medical shops and others, would go a long way in helping the community.
He also appealed to the Chief Minister to explore the possibilities of
including poultry feed and dairy feed under the scheme. Former Minister Motukupalli Narasimulu said he considered it as a privilege to be invited for discussions on the Dalit Bandhu scheme and seeking his suggestions for the scheme.
“I have observed the functioning of 10 Chief Ministers closely during my political tenure but none had thought of introducing such a novel scheme for the welfare of Dalits,” Narasimlu said, adding that such schemes would fulfil the aspirations of Dr BR Ambedkar. Welcoming the scheme, Poet and singer Goreti Venkanna said Dalit Bandhu would bring in a revolutionary change in the lives of Dalits.
