Bhim Army chief Chandrasekhar Azad on Friday met Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan and invited him to attend the Bhim Army Mahasabha to be held in Jaipur in Rajasthan on August 26 as chief guest.
A press release issued by the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) stated that Azad praised rao for implementing Dalit Bandhu and other welfare schemes for the social and economic upliftment of Dalits. Azad said the pro-Dalit schemes being implemented by the Telangana government were a role model for the
country, it added.
The installation of 125-feet-tall statue of Dr B.R. Ambedkar near the State Secretariat reflected Rao's respect, sincerity and commitment towards the principles propagated by Dr Ambedkar, the release said quoted Azad as staying.
Azad also praised the Gurukul education system to provide free quality education in the residential mode to SCs, STs, BCs and minorities by setting up hundreds of residential schools, it added.
