Birth Certificate compulsory for Passport and Driving Licence

Govt. of Telangana has made birth certificate compulsory for getting admissions in schools, passport and driving licence. Earlier, the birth entries in school certificates were acceptable but the system has now been



changed. All those children who are born after 1st January 1989 have to get birth certificates from municipalities. In rural areas such certificates have to be obtained from the Secretary of Gram Panchayat.
