The BJP released the names of 12 candidates, taking its total for the November 30 elections to 100. Monday’s list had one woman candidate, Tula Uma from Vemulawada, and the total stands at 13.
The list released by the BJP central election committee named candidates for three reserved seats, taking the total number of SC communities candidates to 16 and ST candidates to 10.
The party has to announce candidates in 19 seats but with the alliance with Jana Sena on the cards the number of BJP candidates which are going to be announced is still unclear.
The
fourth list in this backdrop has steered clear of announcing seats for Serilingampally, Kukpatpally, Wyra, Khammam, Kothagudem, Aswaraopet and Nagar Kurnool.
Sources indicate that the party has tried to balance between the Etala Rajendar and Bandi Sanjay groups. While Uma is considered a follower of Rajendar, Sanjay's choice Bomma Srikanth got a seat in Husnabad. The party did not offer tickets to the kin of Governors Bandaru Dattatreya and Ch Vidyasagar Rao and denied tickets to their daughter Bandaru Vijaya Lakshmi and Vikas Rao respectively.
