Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday came out with all guns blazing, holding Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party responsible for the covert operation to buy four TRS MLAs by offering Rs.100 crore.

Reacting to the incident for the first time at a public meeting at Bangarigadda village near Chandur of Munugode, Chandrashekhar Rao said a detailed investigation should be conducted into the involvement of bigwigs in the covert operation, the origin of such huge money and the conspiracy to topple the TRS government.

Training his guns specifically on Modi, the TRS (now Bharat Rashtra Samithi) supremo asked why Modi was promoting defection politics and whether it augured well for the nation. He reminded that becoming the Prime Minister of India itself was a big achievement and there was no post higher than that.

“But why is Modi, who has become the Prime Minister twice, still hatching conspiracies to topple governments and usurp power from the States? Why this cruelty? How much more power do you want? Did the RSS leaders who are currently in the Chanchalguda jail act without Prime Minister Modi’s support?” he asked, stating that the BJP wanted to ‘encroach’ upon Telangana by hook or crook to implement privatisation at its will.

Chandrashekhar Rao, who reached the venue on a helicopter with the four legislators who had refused the BJP offer, introduced them to the crowd amidst huge applause.

“Those behind the operation have no right to

continue in office even for a minute,” he said, appreciating Tandur MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy, Achampet MLA Guvvala Balaraju, Kolhapur MLA Harshavardhan Reddy and Pinapaka MLA Rega Kantha Rao for exposing the covert operation.

“This is Telangana’s self-respect. These four MLAs kicked away the Rs.100 crore each offer from the Delhi brokers and hoisted Telangana’s flag of self-respect as high as the Himalayas. Politics needs such leaders,” he said amidst loud applause, cheers and whistles from the massive gathering.

Stating that the BJP was trying to purchase legislators like cattle, he said being the Chief Minister, he would not speak more about the case as it was sub-judice.

“But what people saw on news channels is just a trailer. There is more, enough to shake Delhi throne. It will come out in the days to come,” he said.

Recalling that he had started from Siddipet with the support of the people there while launching his mission to achieve the separate State of Telangana, Chandrashekhar Rao said the people of Munugode too were on the verge of creating history by giving the BRS juggernaut a great start with a victory in the November 3 bypoll.

“Just like the people of Siddipet laid a foundation for our fight for Telangana State, I urge people of Munugode to lay a strong foundation for development of India through your vote,” he said, adding that the BRS had emerged to take the Telangana model of development across the country.
