In Telangana, BJP and Progressive Recognized Teachers Union (PRTU) have bagged one each of the two teachers’ MLC seats. The counting for the lone graduates’ constituency is still underway. Malka Komaraiah of the BJP emerged victorious in the Medak-Nizamabad-Karimnagar-Adilabad teachers’ MLC election. PRTU candidate P. Sripal Reddy won the



Nalgonda-Warangal-Khammam teachers’ seat after 18 rounds of elimination. He defeated the sitting MLC A. Narsi Reddy of the United Teachers Federation.

The BJP contested all three seats and Congress was in the contest in the lone graduates’ seat while the BRS party had opted out of the contest.
