In Telangana, the BJP yesterday urged the Election Commission of India to take action against State Assembly speaker G Prasad Kumar for violating the Model Code of Conduct by participating in election campaigns. BJP state General Secretary G Premender Reddy has given a complaint to this effect to Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj. The party

alleged that the Speaker has been campaigning for the Congress, despite earlier complaints.

The BJP leaders also urged the ECI to instruct the police to take action against those who destroy the BJP hoardings, and instruct officials to remove unauthorised banners.
