The State BJP has urged Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan to instruct the State government to follow the Telangana High Court advice and invite TSRTC unions for negotiations that could pave the way to end the ongoing strike by RTC workers.
In a memorandum submitted to the Governor at the Raj Bhavan, on Wednesday, the BJP leaders led by Dr K Laxman also urged the Governor to instruct the government to withhold the process of giving RTC land on lease to private parties, including initiatives that were launched as part of a
build-operate-transfer regime. They also said the government should be told to appoint a full time Chairman and MD to manage RTC’s affairs.
The BJP delegation reminded the Governor that they had approached her on October 10 and brought to her notice all relevant details about the RTC strike. In its memorandum, the BJP said: “Unfortunately, the government has been adamant in its stance and what is baffling is that it is taking recourse to tactics of intimidation to browbeat the RTC employees. .”
