City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar on Tuesday held a meeting with the Blue Colts (motorcycle-borne policemen) teams and presented them appreciation certificates.
The Commissioner interacted with the Blue Colts teams from the East and South zones at the City Armed Reserve headquarters. He also inspected 104 Blue Colts vehicles on the spot.
Two constables, P Siddappa of Rein Bazaar police station who apprehended a chain snatcher, and, P Narayana Rao of Afzalgunj who apprehended a wanted offender using a fingerprint device, were appreciated and presented with certificates and cash rewards.
The Commissioner, also gave appreciation certificates to nine Blue Colts policemen who performed community policing meetings regularly and motivated community members to install closed circuit cameras. The
constables were P Praveen Kumar (Chandrayangutta), B Sai Kumar (Dabeerpura), M Rakesh (Chatrinaka), P Srinivasa Ra (Saidabad), R Devender (Malakpet), C Venkatesh (Falaknuma), J Venugopal (Falaknuma), B Sudheer (Amberpet) and B Prashanth (Chaderghat).
Anjani Kumar also gave appreciation letters to 10 constables who performed well in attending emergency calls and 10 policemen who performed well in keeping surveillance on criminals.
The Commissioner said the police should emphasise more on community policing and use modern technology in day-to-day patrolling. He said the movements of Blue Colts was being monitored from the command and control centre. Additional Commissioner of Police (CAR Headquarters) T Murali Krishna was present.
