The state government is making elaborate arrangements for Bonalu at Jagadamba Mahankali temple in Golconda, the festivities of which will begin on July 15.
Minister of animal husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav, who held a meeting at Salar Jung Museum with temple committee members to discuss the arrangements on Wednesday, said chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao wants the festivities organised in a grand manner.
Pattu (silk) vastrams would be offered on behalf of the government and steps taken to ensure no inconvenience is caused to the devotees during the festival, he said. When members of the temple committees in the
Old City gave a detailed account of the works, the minister asked officials to take note of the problems raised by the members, resolve them at the earliest and file an action taken report.
Yadav said a huge Bonalu procession would be taken out on the last day from Madannapet temple. The procession will pass through Shahalibanda, Lal Darwaza, Mecca Masjid, Charminar and culminate at Nayapul.
The festival will be held in the Old City temples on August 5 with ministers offering prayers on behalf of the government. A grand procession followed by Rangam will be held on August 6.
