Bonthu Ram Mohan inaugurates water ATM at Malakpet

Mayor Bonthu Rammohan and Administrator for US Agency for International Development (USAID) Mark A Green Inaugurated a water ATM here on Tuesday. This is the fifth water ATM in the area, which is located near Malakpet police station. It has been set up by Safe Water Network and Falcam, with support from USAID and Honeywell.

These 24x7 water ATMs deploy a six-stage treatment process to produce drinking water that



conforms to national standards. Raw water will be supplied by Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB), while the infrastructure is facilitated by GHMC.

In August 2017, it was announced that GHMC, Safe Water Network and Falcam will set up 50 safe water ATMs across the city. The ATMs will provide safe water access to 150,000 people and generate more than 100 livelihoods.
