Hyderabad city Mayor B Rammohan directed officials of the engineering wing of GHMC to deploy additional teams wherever necessary to take up work pertaining to potholes immediately. With many roads damaged because of the continuous downpour over the past few days, several potholes have developed causing inconvenience to residents even though recarpeting of roads was done before monsoons.

The Mayor directed engineering officials of State Road Development Corporation and GHMC to coordinate to take up recarpeting and

restoration works. He also pointed out that the GHMC only has one BT hot mix plant at Chudi Bazar from where material is being carried to different circles and zones causing a delay in works.

“Detailed discussions were held and the Mayor directed setting up of temporary BT hot mix plants at Yapral, Fathullaguda, Khaitlapur and other GHMC sites by calling short tenders within three days so that the plants can be set up in 7-10 days,” an official release from the GHMC said.
