Hours before BRS chief and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao kick starts the silver jubilee celebrations, the party cadre hoisted its flags marking the party’s foundation day across the State on Sunday.

They paid tributes to Telangana ideologue Prof Jayashankar and freedom fighter Konda Laxman Bapuji, and also scores of Telangana martyrs amid slogans commemorating their sacrifices paving the way for Telangana Statehood.

BRS working president KT Rama Rao, along with senior leaders hoisted the party flag at Telangana Bhavan. Later, he paid tributes to Prof Jayashankar. He also paid homage to Konda Laxman Bapuji at Tank Bund and Telangana martyrs’ memorial at Gun Park.

Speaking on the occasion, Rama Rao described



Konda Laxman Bapuji and Professor Jayashankar as the pillars of Telangana Statehood movement whose ideologies inspired the party chief Chandrashekhar Rao to lead the party for past 25 years.

“Our party, born 25 years ago at Jal Drishyam under K Chandrashekhar Rao’s leadership, has grown from a one-man mission into a people’s movement that achieved Telangana Statehood,” he said.

Expressing gratitude, the former Minister called it a matter of great pride to launch the silver jubilee celebrations at Jal Drishyam, the birthplace of the party. He reaffirmed that Telangana’s progress remains the sole agenda of the BRS and reiterated the party’s commitment to serving Telangana society for another 25 years with the support of people of the State.
