BRS demands probe into discrepancies in Group-I exam

BRS leader A Rakesh Reddy termed the Telangana High Court’s verdict on the Group-I exam irregularities a tight slap to TGPSC. Calling the High Court directions a moral victory for candidates and also BRS, he demanded re-conducting the Group-I mains exam or re-evaluating the exam papers. He also sought a judicial probe or the central agencies.

Addressing the media at Telangana Bhavan, Rakesh Reddy pointed out rampant malpractice in the conduct of the Group-I mains, citing 21 serious violations and discrepancies in the results.

“How did 10 extra candidates who were not there in the exam attendance list, suddenly appear in the final list? Was there any cyber attack to change the merit list?” he questioned. He also



raised doubts over awarding marks in a suspicious pattern.

The BRS leader ridiculed the TGPSC’s arguments, giving excuses for its decisions, including providing separate exam centres for women to ensure their safety. “In UPSC, men and women write together. Does that mean there’s no security for women in Telangana?” he asked.

He charged the Congress government with blackmailing and threatening petitioners, while using fear tactics against whistleblowers like him by slapping legal notices. He asserted that the BRS will continue its fight until justice is served.

“This case is not a fight between political parties, but one between government job aspirants and a corrupt system,” he added.
