BRS Files Complaint Against Rahul Gandhi With EC For Violating The Model Code Of Conduct

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has filed a complaint with the Election Commission against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi alleging him violating the Model Code of Conduct. The BRS in its complaint alleged that the Congress leader of passing derogatory remarks and unverified allegations against its party chief K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) in the phone tapping issue. The Party demanded an immediate ban on Rahul Gandhi from campaigning for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as well as action against the Congress.

The complaint said that the party categorically stated that its chief K Chandrasekhar Rao has no relation to the ongoing phone tapping case nor he has knowledge about it. The BRS further said making derogatory comments on the case implicating that KCR is guilty of the offence is nothing but a character



assassination especially when the investigation is underway. The party attached videos of Rahul Gandhi’s remarks to support their complaint.

Rahul Gandhi released the Congress manifesto at Tukkuguda in Telangana two days ago. He drew parallels between the former Telangana chief minister and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the use of government agencies to tap phones and extort money from the citizens.

 

 

The BRS has also lodged another complaint with the Election Commission of India against state minister Konda Surekha for her remarks on the same phone tapping issue, seeking action against her for violating the election code of conduct. Telangana will go to poll on the 13th of next month.
