Students from across the state flocked to the Parade Ground in Secunderabad on Tuesday to partake in a student body protest against the government over the lack of facilities, delayed scholarships, question paper leaks and lack of teaching staff at government institutions.
The ‘Kadana Bheri’ meeting organised by the ABVP saw a slew of national and state leaders take to the podium to rap the government over its failures in the field of education.
Among those present at the meeting were national general secretary Yagyavalkya Shukla, national secretary Ankita Pawar, national organising
secretaries Balakrishna and Ashish Chauhan, and state joint secretary Kamal Suresh.
A common theme of the speakers was that the BRS government had only brought the titles of ‘liquor king’ and ‘liquor queen’ to the state, apart from corruption and scandals in the past nine years.
They also questioned the Chief Minister over his promise of dismantling the corporate education system, made during the fight for Telangana statehood.
Students enthusiastically cheered the speeches and raised anti-BRS slogans.
