Telangana Member of Legislative Council (MLC) and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s daughter, Kavitha Kalvakuntla, on Thursday addressed BJP MP Arvind Dharmapuri and said, "Arvind, do remember this, if you make such derogatory comments against me, I would not hesitate to slap you with my slippers on the streets of Nizamabad."
This comes after the BJP MP said Kavitha has "unnecessary and over-the-top pride and ego." Talking about the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader, Arvind Dharmapuri said, "She's speaking with so much ego and pride. KCR, KTR and Kavitha, all of them have unnecessary and over-the-top pride and ego. This is nothing but
that.”
The BJP MP's remark had come after BRS members vandalised his home in Hyderabad and burnt effigies of him outside the residence. The BRS members were protesting against Arvind Dharmapuri's remark that MLC Kavitha Kalvakuntla was in touch with the Congress.
Hitting out at the BRS for the protest, he said, "My staff back at home were assaulted, property at my home was vandalized, tables, photos and glass windows were broken. Can you pull the same stunt at Pragathi Bhavan?" Pragathi Bhavan is the Telangana Chief Minister's official residence.
He also challenged MLC Kavitha to stand in the 2024 elections and contest against him.
