Nizamabad: BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind has said the ‘friendship’ between BRS and MIM adversely affected the interests of Muslims.
The BRS government did not implement the `5 lakh Ayushman Bharat insurance scheme and the `2 lakh Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana scheme in Telangana, he pointed out.
This meant a loss of `7 lakh to each Muslim family in the state, he said.
He said, "The BJP will not indulge in the appeasement politics but it is committed to giving equal rights to Muslims alongside those from other religions."
Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Arvind said, "The BJP is ready to serve the Muslims if they vote for our party’s symbol Lotus. ‘If you do not wish to vote for the BJP, you should mark the ‘None of the Above" (Nota) option in the ballot paper," he suggested to Muslims.
He said the Congress and the BRS used Muslims as their vote bank, but failed to financially empower the community. Triple Talak, Article 370, CAA proved that the BJP government does not want to harm the Muslim community, he claimed.
Arvind said that Uniform Civil Code (UCC) would come into being soon and it would benefit Muslims too. "I am
ready to serve the Muslims, but no one came forward to get at least the MPLADS funds from me,", he said.
The Gulf countries, especially Saudi Arabia, accorded respect to Prime Minister Modi, he said.
Replying to a question, the BJP MP said that provoking Muslims or spreading hatred against any community is not a BJP policy. Hate- mongers are there in both Muslims and Hindus, but they do not form any major portion of any community, he said.
Reacting on BRS party activities, the MP said Chief minister KCR decided to contest from Kamareddy constituency for fear of losing his Gajwel seat."If KCR wanted to prevent the BJP from gaining strength in north Telangana, he should have contested either from Armoor or Adilabad," he said.
Kamareddy and Gajwel are contiguous assembly constituencies, he noted.
MP Arvind assured that he will take initiative for awareness programmes on MBC castes. BJP Karnataka MLA Muni Raju, BJP state executive committee member Dhanpal Suryanarayana Gupta, BJP district president Baswapuram Laxminarsaiah, BJP municipal floor leader Sravanthi Reddy and others were present.
