BRS MLC Kavitha calls Telangana Congress government ‘PPP regime’

BRS MLC K Kavitha took a dig at the Congress government, stating that it was operating in ‘PPP mode’ — phobia, politics and percentage.

She said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was obsessed with criticising BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao, while neglecting pressing public issues. During her visit to Mahabubabad on Monday, Kavitha lambasted the Congress leadership, stating that governance in Telangana had been reduced to political vendettas and financial kickbacks.

“Some are calling this a ’10 per cent government,’ implying that nothing moves without a cut,” she remarked. She reminded that Revanth Reddy was unable to end his public meetings without criticising Chandrashekhar Rao, indicating his phobia of the former Chief Minister.

Targeting the government’s handling of farmer distress, the BRS MLC charged Revanth Reddy with failing to support chilli farmers, who were in dire straits. She demanded a minimum support price of Rs 25,000 per quintal for chillies, questioning why Telangana farmers were left to suffer, while Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was pressing the Centre for providing price support.

She criticised the Congress for failing to fulfill its promises, including the crop loan waiver and



insurance benefits. “Villages are still waiting for their dues, and farmers suicides are on the rise due to mismanagement,” she charged.

On women’s welfare, Kavitha took a jibe at the free bus travel scheme, stating that while the initiative was good in principle, it should not come at the cost of self-respect. “Instead of false PR stunts, the government must increase the number of buses to ensure all women get seats,” she asserted.

Blaming Revanth Reddy for prioritising politics over governance, the BRS MLC slammed his absence during key crises. “He has time for election campaigns in Nizamabad but failed to visit the SLBC tunnel collapse site, where eight persons are trapped,” she said.

Demanding continuity of developmental projects initiated by the BRS government, Kavitha warned that the people of Telangana would not tolerate a government that thrives on empty rhetoric and broken promises. “During hardships, it was the BRS that stood with the people. The Congress government must stop playing politics and start delivering on its commitments,” she declared.

Responding to a question from the media, she asked people to vote for efficient and independent BC candidates in Graduates MLC elections being held in the district.
