The BRS dropped its Alampur candidate, legislator V.M. Abraham,  and replaced him with Vijayudu, even as it picked Nand Kishore Vyas ‘Bilal’ for Goshamahal and Ch Anand Kumar Goud for Nampally, completing its line-up of candidates for the Assembly elections.

The BRS had earlier announced that Abraham would be its candidate but with the party MLC Challa Venkatram Reddy supporting Vijayudu, and the latter launching a campaign around a week ago, BRS leadership chose to drop Abraham.

It also issued Form B to all the candidate with seven more of

its candidates receiving the documents along with Vyas and Goud. The Alampur MLA had not been issued the Form B.

In Nampally, Goud will face off with Md Feroz Khan of the Congress and Md Majid Hussain from the AIMIM, while in Goshamahal, it will square off with T. Raja Singh of the BJP and Mogili Sunitha of the Congress.

Nand Kishore Vyas ‘Bilal’ is a Hindu; 'Bilal' is a sort of a nickname for him among Muslims, just as Muslims in Khammam call transport minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar 'Ajay Khan'.
