The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) on Friday urged the Election Commission of India to extend the deadline for enrolment of voters for the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Graduates constituency from the existing date of November 6, for at least two months. Senior BRS leader and former chairman of State Civil Supplies Corporation Ravinder Singh met Chief Electoral Officer Sudharshan Reddy and submitted a representation in this regard.

In a representation to



the CEO, Ravinder Singh said due to lack of adequate number of awareness programmes in the rural areas, the registration of voters was being carried out at a slow pace. He said the enrolment officers who are already burdened with day-to-day official work and are struggling to complete the work. He suggested that the EC appoint at least an employee at each of these voter enrolment centres. He wanted them to sensitise voters and ensure that these youth cast their vote in the next elections.
