Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said the Budget presented by Finance Minister Etela Rajender on Monday was a perfect prescription for the needs of the State based on ground realities.
Pointing out that the budget was a deviation from the traditional one, the Chief Minister said it was aimed at both welfare of the people as well as facilitating the growth of the State’s economic development.
“I am hopeful that the budget will strengthen the rural economy,” he said, and hailed the Finance Minister for giving equal importance to all sectors and providing justice to all, in the process balancing all sections.
Stating that he was happy that the budget allocations were made for the betterment of the poor, women and low-level employees, Rao said he was particularly happy that huge amounts were allocated for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, minorities and people in hereditary
professions.
Proper allocation
He also congratulated the Finance Minister for giving more allocations to sectors that were neglected during the days of undivided Andhra Pradesh. “The Budget was arrived at after properly estimating the financial resources in the State, having a good understanding of the actual needs and to utilise human resources,” he said.
Though the Centre had brought about changes, the State’s finance ministry had efficiently allocated funds for development and administrative heads. “It augurs well for the State that an effort has been made to reduce administrative expenditure and increase expenditure on welfare, development and progressive schemes,” he said.
The Chief Minister congratulated Rajender, Principal Secretary (Finance) Ramakrishna Rao, Finance Secretary Sandeep Sultania, Advisor G R Reddy and the CMO officials for preparing such a good Budget.
