Budget session of Telangana Legislature will begin today

The Budget session of Telangana Legislature will begin today with the customary address of Governor ESL Narasimhan to the joint sitting of the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council. The session is expected to continue till the end of the month. 

Finance Minister Etela Rajender will be presenting the budget proposals on next Monday for the financial year 2017-18. The Comptroller and Auditor General of India's Audit Reports on the accounts of state government will also be tabled during the session. The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting to be held today will be deciding the exact duration of the session and the agenda



to be taken up. 

Ruling TRS President and Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao has asked his party legislators to highlight the performance of various government schemes and their implementation. Meanwhile, the Congress Legislature Party also chalked out the strategy to be followed in both the Houses. AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh also took part in the brainstorming session. Later party leaders said public issues like farmers’ hardships, over running irrigation project costs will be raised during the session. Meanwhile, tight security arrangements have been made in and around the Assembly premises.
