Bus overturns and catches fire in Jogulamba Gadwal district

A 40-year-old woman was charred to death and 30 passengers suffered injuries after a private Volvo bus in which they were travelling overturned and caught fire at Bichupalli village of Jogulamba Gadwal district.

According to police, the Volvo bus was proceeding to Kadapa from Hyderabad carrying 37 passengers on Friday night. Most of the passengers were proceeding to their native places for



Sankranti.

As the bus reached Bichupalli village, the driver lost control and hit the divider. Later, the bus overturned and caught fire. When the mishap took place, all passengers were asleep and unable to come out of the vehicle. The passerby noticed the mishap and rescued the passengers. Police suspect that driver's negligence caused the mishap.
