The city police advised the organisers of New Year parties to ensure decency of apparel, dance and other acts, gestures and words.City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy issued certain guidelines to the managements of three-star and above hotels, clubs and pubs in connection with the New Year celebrations.
There should not be any obscenity and nudity in any performances during the New Year celebrations, he directed the organisers. He also directed the organisers to install CCTV cameras with recording facility at all the entry and exit points of establishment and at the parking places.
The organisers and managements should provide adequate security guards and ensure sound levels are maintained at 45 decibels and less. He warned the organisers not to allow minors and firearms at the venues.The city police chief directed the organisers to ensure that passes or tickets should not be given in excess
than the capacity leading to law and order problem and asked them to make special parking arrangements.
He also warned that if the organisers failed to prevent use of drugs or narcotics and psychotropic substances at the party, it would lead to culpability of the management and action would be taken as per the law. Organiser should pay special attention on parking areas and other places where drugs are clandestinely sold.
The organisers should not serve liquor beyond the hours permitted by the Excise department, Mahender Reddy said adding that it was the responsibility of the management to provide drivers and cabs to the customers who were in drunken state to reach their destinations safely.
Also, there should not be any display of fireworks, the city police chief said and warned that the liability for any loss and damage to the life and property would rest with the organisers.
