A six-member Central team will be arriving in Telangana today to visit flood-affected areas of Khammam and Mahbubabad districts to assess the damage. The team will be led by joint secretary in the Union Home ministry, Col Kirti Pratap Singh. Union Coal Minister G. Kishan Reddy spoke to Col Singh, who is also adviser to the National Disaster Relief Force and apprised him about the



findings. 

The team also comprises officers from the finance, agriculture, roads, rural development departments and the National Remote Sensing Agency. The team will also meet the affected people and state officials. It may be recalled that 29 people died and over 5000 crore rupees worth properties damaged in Telangana due to the recent heavy rains and floods.
