The Central government on Thursday issued a notification for transferring Justice Annireddy Abhishek Reddy from the Telangana High Court to the Patna High Court.
The move comes after the Supreme Court Collegium, headed by Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud, recommended the move on November 24, 2022, following which advocates of the Telangana High Court protested against the proposal and abstained from court for three days.
Demanding that the proposal be revoked, the executive committee of the Telangana High Court Advocates Association met CJI Chandrachud, who agreed to examine their grievances, following which they ended their strike.
Due to the strong disapproval of the move, the transfer was pending until the notification was issued on
Thursday.
