Union Minister for Railways and Commerce Piyush Goyal announced the expansion of the Spice Board on Tuesday in the presence of a delegation of Telangana unit of BJP led by Nizamabad MP Aravind Dharmapuri in New Delhi.

The Union Minister declared that the regional office in Nizamabad will be upgraded as a Regional cum Extension Centre of Spices Board. Goyal said the Board would focus on turmeric crops



exports along with other pulses.

“The Board will assist in all possible ways in the export of crops that are harvested,” he said, adding that a meeting with farmers and international buyers would be held to negotiate fair prices. The Board will be headed by a Deputy Director level officer who would look after promotion, exports, production and quality of spices.
