Telangana Finance Minister Etela Rajender on Monday requested Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to take a positive decision at the earliest on the TS government’s request to waive off GST on its flagship programmes such as Mission Bhagiratha and irrigation projects.
He said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had already written a letter to the Centre in this regard. The Union Finance Minister who is also GST Council Chairman, held a video conference with the State Finance Ministers and other officials on Monday evening, to enquire about the problems arising out of implementation of the GST.

Principal Secretary for Commercial Taxes Somesh Kumar and Commissioner Anil participated in the video conference.Rajender said any delay in waiving off GST on the State government projects would result in a hefty burden on the State treasury as Telangana was taking up large scale infrastructure development works. He listed out various teething problems in implementation of GST in Telangana.
Assuring for a speedy decision on the State government’s requests, Arun Jaitely has asked Rajender to submit a report on these issues during the next GST Council meeting scheduled to be held in New Delhi on August 5.
