Chalo Assembly: Former MP Ponnam Prabhakar and others arrested in Hyderabad

Former MP Ponnam Prabhakar, former MLAs S Venkataramana Reddy and D Sudheer Reddy along with other activists were arrested by the police at the Assemby gate here on Friday.

They had reached the Assembly to register their protest as part of the Chalo Assembly call given by the Congress party.The Congress leaders, who came in three batches, had tried to enter the gate near Gun Park when the



police detained them. They were then moved into a police patrol vehicle and shifted from the premises.

A group of tribal women who came in auto-rickshaws were also detained by the police. The women claimed that they were sent by the Congress leaders.Security​ has been tightened at the Assembly and its premises to prevent any untoward incidents.
