Chemists strike tomorrow over online pharmacy

Telangana Chemists and Druggists Association called for a bandh on Friday, protesting against the government policy to allow selling of drugs through an online pharmacy.

According to association members, the government’s decision of e-pharmacy system can be misused. “This will open doors for



illegal drugs and people can misuse medicines which are available only by showing a prescription. This is a violation of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940. Also, several retail sellers will suffer losses,” said S Venjatapathi, member of Telangana Chemists and Druggists Association.
