Chief Minister Telangana State Mr. K Chandershekhar Rao hosted Christmas Dinner among Christian Community at Fateh Maidan on Tuesday Evening.
CM KCR promised to give two acres of alternative land for the construction of Christian Home at Nagole crossroads in the city. This would be in place of the land previously allotted for the purpose in Mahendra Hills.
Participating in Christmas celebrations here on Tuesday, KCR said that he would personally supervise the construction of Christian Bhavan. The allotment of land would be made by the next Christmas. The Chief Minister said that the fruits of Bangaru Telangana should reach all sections of society. Jesus Christ had shown the way to the world with his sacrifice and everyone should take inspiration from his teachings.
KCR said that that the State government had decided that henceforth permission for construction of new churches
could be had from the local bodies as against the existing practice of obtaining permission from district collectors.The government would also give funds for taking up repairs to churches on the lines of temples and mosques. Land for churches would be given at nominal rates, he added.
KCR said that he would meet Bishops in the State over dinner after January 26 and discuss issues pertaining to Christians.He said that attacks on Christians had come down in the State. There were stray incidents here and there, but they would be dealt with an iron hand.
Wishing Merry Christmas, the Chief Minister cut a cake and participated in prayer administered by Archbishop Tumma Bala.
Deputy Chief Minister Alhaj Mohammed Mehmood Ali, Home Minister N Narsimha Reddy, Speaker Assembly Madhu Sudhan Charry, Chairmen Telangana Legislative Council Swamy Goud and many others was participated.
