Warangal: The Kazipet police has registered a case against a Circle Inspector under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) for allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl at his flat located at Waddepally area in Hanamkonda.
According to the First Information Report(FIR), Circle Inspector M Ravi Kumar, who is currently working in Hyderabad, saw the girl, who resides in the same apartment, conversing with her classmate in the corridor. He approached her and asked her classmate to leave. He then asked her to come to his flat and as soon as she entered the house, the police officer, who was alone, grabbed her and tried to forcefully drag her into the bedroom.
However, the
girl somehow managed to free herself from the clutches of the accused. Later, he threatened the victim not to disclose about the incident to anyone and forcefully took her mobile phone number.
She revealed about the incident to her parents, who confronted Ravi Kumar and questioned about the incident. Ravi Kumar threatened them and started harassing the girl through missed calls. Following this the parent approached the Kazipet police and lodged a complaint against the CI.
Though the incident took place on October 9, the complaint was registered on October 22 night. A case was registered under sections 127(2), 75(2), 351(2) BNS, 9(a)v, 9(c) r/w 10 POCSO ACT 2012.
