City Police Annual Sports and Games meet begins in Hyderabad

The Hyderabad City Police Annual Sports and Games Meet-2018 is being held at Shiv Kumar Lal Police Stadium at Goshamahal here from January 9 to 11.

In all, 800 staff and officers of all wings of City Police are participating in the meet. Further, for the first time, the city police involved civilians in Police Sports Meet as a measure of friendly policing. Sports events like Athletics, Football, Volleyball, Handball, Basketball, Hockey, Kabbaddi, Shuttle Badminton, Judo, Wrestling, Boxing, Gymnastics, lawn Tennis and Weightlifting are being organized.

The Sports meet was set in motion with a colorful March-past by the participants. Chief organizing secretary and City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar, IPS, welcomed



the dignitaries and the participants.

Speaking on the occasion, the city police chief stated Sports would be a stress-buster and would give relief to the hardworking cops. He appealed to all the sportsmen and players to maintain sportsmen spirit and take victory and defeat positively.

Finance Principal Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, IAS, inaugurated the Sports & Games Meet and explained about the importance of both Sports & Sportsmanship. Shikha Goel, IPS, Addl. CP Crimes, D.S. Chauhan, IPS, Addl. CP (L&O), M. Shiva Prasad, IPS, Addl. CP Admn, T. Murali Krishna, IPS, Addl. CP HQrs, Dr. Tarun Joshi, IPS, Joint CP, SB, City, and other senior officers were present.
