The State Civil Supplies Department, in a State-wide crackdown on petrol bunks from May 16 to 20, has filed 23 cases for fraudulent dispensal of fuel.

In a statement here on Wednesday, Civil Supplies Commissioner C V Anand said that the raids, following complaints from the public, saw the department raiding 567 petrol pumps in the State, including 49 bunks in Hyderabad and 33 in Ranga



Reddy.

“A specially formed enforcement team with officials of Civil Supplies made surprise checks on the petrol bunks throughout the State for five days from May 16 to 20,” he said, adding that there were several reports of shortage in quantity of petrol and diesel sold to customers in various parts of the State.

“No illegal practice was reported in petrol bunks in Hyderabad zone,” he added.
