TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy said that the Kamareddy electorate will decide the future of Telangana and expressed confidence that people would give a 'historic verdict' by defeating BRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao in the constituency.
The TPCC chief asked Rao to tell the people why it took 40 years for him to remember that his mother was from Kamareddy. Reddy also campaigned for Congress candidates in Narayanpet, Mahabubnagar and Patancheru on Sunday.
"KCR enjoyed all the posts starting from MLA to MP, Union minister and Chief Minister in the last 40 years. Suddenly, he now realises that his mother is from Kamareddy, which was the reason he was contesting from this seat," he said.
He cautioned people that Rao contesting from Kamareddy was a 'conspiracy' to grab the land of farmers.
"Rao and his family members usurped all the land in Gajwel. They are now eyeing lands in Kamareddy.
He never came to Kamareddy to see the plight of the Gulf workers and help their families. Now he wants to
represent them. It's a great opportunity for Kamareddy people to put paid to all devious aspirations of Rao," he said.
Reddy stated that he came to Kamareddy to 'hunt' down Rao, who is habituated to drinking the blood of poor people.
In Narayanpet and Mahbubnagar public meetings, he appealed to the people to ensure the victory of Congress in all 14 Assembly seats.
"I am from Mahbubnagar district. Sonia amma made me the TPCC president. I rose to this position because of the support and blessings of the people of this district. Now, Chandrashekar Rao, K.T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao are carrying axes to cut short my political career. It is the responsibility of the people of this district to protect the son of the soil from such nefarious elements," Reddy said.
He assured to take full responsibility of developing Mahabubnagar district across all fronts after Congress comes to power. All the pending irrigation projects will be completed on a war-footing, he said.
