People of Telangana are celebrating State Formation Day today with much pomp and gaiety. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has hoisted the national flag at the main, ceremonial event held at the Public Gardens in Hyderabad and received the guard of honour.
Addressing people on the occasion, he said the policies and decisions taken during the past 8 years have yielded good results. He emphasised that the need of the hour is the policies that increase employment opportunities, improve basic amenities and encourage new agriculture and industrial policies. Elaborating the achievements of his government, he said Dalit Bandhu programme and housing for the poor will be extended to all eligible in the state, phase-wise.
The Chief Minister demanded a single policy for paddy procurement across the country. He also urged the centre for
policies that strengthen states economically and socially.
President Ram Nath Kovind has extended his greetings to the people of Telangana on Statehood Day. In a tweet, Mr Kovind said that blessed with rich culture and heritage, Telangana has made commendable progress on development indicators and emerged as a hub for industries.
The President wished the State continues to prosper and fulfil people's aspirations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted the people of Telangana on its Formation Day. In a tweet today, Mr. Modi said, people of Telangana are synonymous with hard work and unparalleled dedication to national progress.
He said, the culture of the state is renowned world over. He prayed for the well-being of the people of Telangana.
